Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information FindingStore ("we", "us") processes when you use https://freefinding.store (the "Service"), why, and what choices you have. We aim to collect as little as possible.
1. Information we process
Images you upload or link. When you upload a product photo, it is stored temporarily on our own server under a random, unlisted link so that the visual search service can access it. Uploaded photos are deleted automatically after about one hour. Please don't upload images containing people, faces, documents or other personal information. Crop your photo to show only the product.
Search processing (SerpAPI and Google). To identify products and find prices, the image link and the search terms derived from it are sent to SerpAPI, which retrieves results from Google services such as Google Lens and Google Search. Their handling of data is governed by their own privacy policies (SerpAPI, Google). We may keep a cached copy of search results, including the temporary image link and your selected country, on our server to avoid repeating identical searches.
Approximate country from your IP address. To show local stores by default, our server sends your IP address to ip-api.com to look up your country. We use only the country code and don't store your IP address with it. You can change the country manually at any time.
Server logs. Our hosting provider (Render) may record standard technical logs, such as IP address, time, requested page and browser type, for security and reliability.
2. Cookies
FindingStore doesn't currently set its own cookies and doesn't require an account. Third-party services may set cookies, as described below.
3. Advertising (Google AdSense)
We plan to show ads served by Google AdSense. When ads are enabled:
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website or other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
- You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalised advertising at www.aboutads.info.
- Learn more about how Google uses data at How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.
- Where the law requires it (for example in the EEA, UK and Switzerland), we will ask for your consent through a consent message before personalised ads or cookies are used.
4. How we use information
We use this information only to provide search results, show local and international prices, keep the Service secure and working, and (once enabled) display advertising. We don't sell personal information.
5. Third-party links
Results link to external stores. Their sites have their own privacy practices, and we aren't responsible for them.
6. Data retention
Uploaded images are deleted from our server after about one hour. Cached search results may be kept on our server until the cache is cleared or the server restarts. Hosting logs are kept according to Render's policies.
7. Children
The Service isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their personal information.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal information. Because we don't keep accounts or link data to identities, we usually hold no personal data that can be retrieved about you. You can contact us through the Contact page.
9. Changes
We may update this policy. Changes will appear on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
